![]() ![]() Diablo 2 hell difficulty does the latter. The problem with Diablo 2 hell difficulty is there’s incremental progress and there’s just feeling like you are constantly hitting a brick wall no matter what you do. If Hell mode difficulty were made “more fun”, Diablo 2 would probably be my favorite. Torchlight 2 is still my favorite unfortunately. Torchlight 2 and Diablo 2 are definitely my favorite ARPG’s. Like I said above if you read at the bottom, I played Grim Dawn but lost interest as well as Van Helsing and the updates to Titan Quest. C’mon Blizz you got this! Hope you nail it with D4. Titan Quest re-mastered didn’t keep my attention nor did Van Helsing or Grim Dawn. There is definitely room for a good ARPG to come into the mix. Maybe D4 will learn from both of these and make a game at least as good as Torchlight 2. There was also the stuttering lag that was super annoying. I played D3 to the end of the story and found no desire to keep playing. I will say this, D2 is still much better than D3. I can’t farm the gear I need because I’m not high enough level and no one is grouping to help each other. This makes me not want to play the game anymore. I did four different class builds and with each one, even following build guides, got stuck in hell difficulty around level 80. This was a complaint back in the day but Blizzard still hasn’t addressed it. If you compare this game to other games, the barrier to get to the end game content is unusually high. Nightmare is very fun but you get to a certain point and can’t level up without going to Hell difficulty that isn’t as fun. If you see a pattern, ban them for bot behavior.ĭ2 is still a fun game, it is just mostly inaccessible to people for end game content. Provide them a CAPTCHA thing like: “What color are oranges?” If the player doesn’t respond or doesn’t respond correctly and they’re doing stuff, kick them. This is what I would do as an alternative to curb bot behavior. Except it’s funny because Blizzard doesn’t get any of the money! The black market does. The funny thing is introducing immunes has further exacerbated this problem by providing incentive for top tier gear to deal with immunities. I like grinding but that’s incredibly grindy with chicken before the egg problems.īlizzard originally introduced immunities to try to curb bots that were automatically farming and selling items for real currency or providing pay levelling services. On top of that, you have to get the right number of sockets and the runes. Also you have this problem where in order to get a Giant Thresher, you have to get to far into hell difficulty which is incredibly difficult. This is very boring because whenever you run into an immune that your build can’t handle, you just basically sit there healing the merc and watch them poke at the immune. You basically have to have a very advanced merc. This is a bad option because if you look at the games available on hell difficulty, most of them are people trading items and hardly anyone is grouping and helping each other. ![]() This mechanic forced you into one of two play styles: It all went south when Blizzard introduced immunities. I played Diablo 2 when it first came out like 98 or 99. ![]()
